The largest practical forum on management and protection of intellectual property in Russia, traditionally organised by the “R-Conf”, took place on 4 and 5 April 2024. Leading experts gathered at the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya.
The event opened with a plenary session, where speakers analysed trends in the field of intellectual property and the development of the legislative framework, discussed the key challenges of today in this area and the ways to address them.
The first speaker was Dmitry Markanov, who made a presentation on "IP Novels 2023-2024: Laws, Bills, Case Law". The presentation touched on a wide range of issues from tax benefits to remuneration for work made for hire.
On the second day of the event, Maxim Volkov's roundtable on "Disputes over infringement of exclusive rights to a programme" attracted a wide audience. The participants of the round table received advice on protecting programmes and undergoing forensic examination, examples from current case law, as well as answers to personal questions.
