Anti-monopoly regulation during the pandemic – risks, expectations and action plans

On 17 June Dmitry Markanov addressed the conference Pravo.ru “Anti-monopoly law: going to a new level”. He participated in the discussion of the anti-monopoly tools for business together with the representatives of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS), in-house lawyers and counsel colleagues.

Yana Sklyarova, Deputy Head of Advertising Control and unfair competition of the FAS of Russia, spoke about typical violations utilizing intellectual property and shed light on some facts. Dmitry Markanov continued the Yana Sklyarova’s presentation by speaking about the possibility of using the legislation about unfair competitions against the attacks of patent trolls.

The session included the discussion of the general compliance and anti-monopoly compliance as well. Further wide distribution of the anti-monopoly compliance could be boosted by the introduction of the incentive to adopt and develop compliance with antimonopoly legislation. Evidently such incentive could become leniency for companies that have implemented and enforced the monitoring of carrying out the procedures of antimonopoly compliance.
