At the annual general meeting of the Russian National Group of AIPPI (Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) held on February 29, 2024 Dmitry Markanov was elected as the President of the Group.
Dmitry has been AIPPI member since 2016, earlier held the office of Treasurer and later the office of Vice-President of the Group. In his new position Dmitry will continue being involved in promoting and developing intellectual property protection in Russia and CIS.
AIPPI founded in Brussels in 1897 is an oldest association for the protection of intellectual property. In addition to the Russian National Group, AIPPI includes 67 national groups and 2 regional groups whose activities are aimed at developing IP laws at national, regional and international levels.
The association is active in Russia and CIS. It arranges local and international events dedicated to the development of patent systems and annually holds the Patent Congress highlighting urgent patenting issues.
