Participants of the Eurasian system of legal protection of industrial designs at this stage are 5 of 8 member states: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Russian Federation.
According to the head of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Grigory Ivliev, the Eurasian system of legal protection of industrial designs will increase the activity of applicants and promote the institution of industrial design in the region, and will reduce the administrative and financial costs of entrepreneurs wishing to work in Russia and other countries of the Eurasian region.
The first application for the Eurasian design certificate was submitted to the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) by head of Rospatent Grigory Ivliev. The application number 001 was a development of Roscosmos called Energy-absorbing cosmonaut's chair.
