On February 14, Dmitry Markanov, Managing Partner of PATENTUS, spoke at the XIII International Legal IP Forum, organized by the Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL). At the panel session “IP Transformation within the frameworks of Technological Turbulence: Challenges of 2025”, the speakers discussed the key challenges and opportunities associated with the transformation of intellectual property. Dmitry told the audience about the problems in protecting image and voice rights in connection with the development of the artificial intelligence. He analyzed in details the current statutory provisions, as well as discussed for a while about the protection of works created using “deepfake” technologies.
On the same day, Denis Kudryavtsev, layer of PATENTUS, took a place among the jury members of the final stage of the “V Grant Competition of the Commonwealth of Graduates of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University” (MSAL) for the best scientific research in the field of intellectual property rights”, which was held as part of the IP Forum. Grant projects of undergraduate, specialist and masters’ students were evaluated during the public defence.
